A frontrunner in the world of entertainment, you’d be hard-pressed to find a skill that Asif Ali Beg lacks. His career in entertainment began in ’82, with his love of music, and since then, he has hit many milestones, from key roles in big-banner productions in India and the UK (Othello, Merchant of Venice, Jaya and more) to releasing his own album of Hindi pop songs called Jantar Mantar, and dubbing for a roster of popular characters in the Disney family.
Aside from singing and acting, Beg is also a successful lyricist, having written songs for various ads, artists like Mehnaz, Viva and Ganesh Hegde, and hit Bollywood singles for Dhoom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and many other popular movies.
Today, he lends his acting prowess to young theatre aspirers at the Drama School Mumbai and other educational institutes, as well as contributing to prestigious programmes like Sound and Vision India and The Learning Curve. He also conducts workshops in voice culture and voice modulation, where he trains people to maximise their vocal potential and improve their articulation.
