Martin Dubois is a professional musician, songwriter and teacher. He began playing music at 9 years, learning the drums, percussion, composition, singing and the piano. Throughout his long, multi-faceted career, he has composed and produced shows for children, learned the flute and the tabla from mentor Amrat Hussain, and currently plays a solo show called ‘Rout Akoustic while teaching workshops around the world.
Dubois is a man of many musical skills, but he will teach his most unique one at our festival: overtone singing, the ages-old practice of Mongolian shepherds, involves imitating the sounds of animals & nature for a ‘harmonic massage’. The musician’s workshop will teach basic techniques of these ‘diphonic’ songs in order to enrich mind, body and spirit.
